ABOUT IZZI
Growing up in the city of Chicago, Izzi Weiss started her coxing career on the Chicago River with LPJ and then Chicago Rowing Foundation under head coach Mike Wallin. While in high school, Izzi also coxed for the USA High-Performance team, representing the United States internationally in 2014.
Izzi was recruited to the University of Virginia’s DI team, where she competed for 4 years, coxing the 1V8+ and 2V8+ during her collegiate racing seasons under head coach Kevin Sauer. During the off-season, Izzi represented the United States of America at the U23 World Championships, winning a gold medal in the W4+ in 2018, and a bronze in the W8+ in 2019.

After working with developing coxswains for years, and spending 12+ years in and around the coxswain seat, Izzi decided to start Inside Turn as a way to expand the coxing community, create resources and a network for coxswains looking to improve, and to give back to the sport of rowing as a whole.
